Butane lighters or wooden matches are recommended. It is important not to introduce chemicals or other flavours or substances into the cigar as it is being lit.

Ignite your lighter with one hand, then grip your cigar around the band and place in your mouth. Position the end of your cigar just behind the flame, without touching the flame with the cigar. As you begin drawing on the cigar, you will see the flame jump onto the cigar. Continue to draw while slowly rotating the cigar until the tobacco around the outer rim begins to glow and the smoke draws easily.

Gently draw the smoke into your mouth and enjoy the flavour (do not inhale). You do not need to tap the ash from the end of your cigar. When you have finished place your cigar in the ashtray and it will go out by itself.
