LEAVES OF THE TOBACCO PLANT

  • LIGERO - A designation of filler leaves primed from the top of the plant. These are the most robust in flavour and tend to burn slower that other leaves. Typically used sparingly in a blend due to their lower combustibility and strong flavour.

  • VISO - A designation of filler leaves primed from the middle of a tobacco plant between the seco and ligero leaves. They are stronger in flavour than most seco and depending on the variety of leaf can be quite potent. Typically they tend to combust moderately well.

  • SECO - A designation of filler leaves primed from the lower portion of a tobacco plant. They are mild to medium in flavour for the particular plant from which they were harvested and tend to combust very well. These leaves often serve as the base on which a filler bunch is constructed.
