My Father Cigars
The story of My Father Cigars is one of passion, tradition, and remarkable craftsmanship. It all began in 2003 when José “Pepin” García and his family established a modest cigar factory in Little Havana, Miami. What started as a small endeavour soon blossomed into one of the most esteemed names in the cigar industry, synonymous with excellence and distinction.
Born in Cuba in 1950, José Pepin García first sat at a rolling table at the tender age of 11. “It is about a lifelong passion! It is not just about a cigar; it is a dream—the García dream!” he says. Staying true to the time-honoured techniques he learned in Cuba, García and his family now own two esteemed factories: a boutique operation in Doral, Florida, where a select team of expert rollers trained by Pepin himself craft cigars, and the expansive García Family Industrial Park in Estelí, Nicaragua. Opened in 2009, this seven-acre complex employs over 300 skilled rollers and oversees every stage of production, from tobacco harvesting to global distribution.
The García family’s blends are renowned for their bold character, rich complexity, and signature spicy aroma. Each cigar is meticulously handcrafted, featuring impeccable construction, a flawless wrapper, and the traditional triple-cap finish. This dedication to excellence has earned My Father Cigars multiple accolades, including Cigar Aficionado’s No.1 Cigar of the Year for the Flor de Las Antillas Toro (2012) and Le Bijou 1922 Torpedo Box Pressed (2015). Most recently, in 2024, My Father The Judge claimed the industry’s top honour, further cementing the García legacy as masters of the craft.
