A tobacco plant normally has 16 - 17 leaves

Starting at the bottom of the plant, only two or three leaves are picked at a time and only after reaching perfect maturity

Growing tobacco and deciding when to pick the leaves is an art. It requires years of training and hands on experience

Total harvest time can take up to six weeks. After the leaves are picked they are taken to the curing house
